William Cage is an investigator who works with employers, non-profits and professional associations to help them better understand and manage risk related to onboarding employees, volunteers and members.

Bill knows the difficulties businesses have when it comes to conducting legally compliant background checks. He founded and operates Safe-Screen since 2009 to offer a simple yet accurate and compliant process and service.

Bill is a former law enforcement officer and criminal investigator with the United States Air Force, a police officer in southern California and investigations manager at the Stardust Resort & Casino. Licensed as a Private Investigator and Private Patrol Operator in CA in 1987 and a Private Investigator, Private Patrolman and Security Consultant in NV since 1998 Bill has also worked as an independent contractor for numerous federal government agencies relative to national security investigations and immigration matters.

Bill has been awarded the Certified Professional Investigator (CPI) designation by the California Association of Licensed Investigators, the Personal Protection Specialist (PPS) certification by the Executive Protection Institute, a Heroic Service Medal by the Clark County Nevada County Commission, a Meritorious Service Medal by the Gretna Louisiana (New Orleans area) Police Department after volunteer law enforcement work post Hurricane Katrina and the Advanced Certification – Fair Credit Reporting Act (FCRA) by the National Association of Professional Background Screeners.
